About SNUG
Tampa Bay The Storage Networking User Group of Tampa Bay (SNUGTB) is dedicated to
bringing together individuals in the Tampa Bay area who share a
common interest in learning about and discussing the latest data
storage and backup technologies, trends and issues.
Per our Bylaws,
the Mission of SNUG Tampa Bay is "to serve its members by
promoting the free exchange of information and ideas related to the
effective application of data storage technology. To that end,
the organization will facilitate face-to-face meetings with other
local data storage users to discuss their mutual challenges,
exchange advice, and interact with knowledge experts in an open and
respectful vendor-neutral environment."

Important Meeting Changes for 2007 In 2007, SNUG Tampa Bay
will usually meet on the third Wednesday of every other month starting in
January. Gatherings start at 6:00 pm with a general networking
session and food provided by the sponsor. The formal meeting begins
at 7:00 pm sharp and runs until approximately 8:30
pm.
Remaining 2007 meetings:
March 28th
May 23rd July 18th September 19th
November 14th (early due to Holiday)
Technology Exposition In 2007 we are going to
try something a little different with some of our monthly meetings.
Instead of a vendor neutral presentation on a storage topic, we will
be inviting a vendor to give us a hands-on demo/lab on their
technology. We believe that in order to facilitate that demo, the
vendors will request that the meeting take place at their facility.
Subject to scheduling, we are targeting the January, May, and
September meetings to be “Tech Expo” meetings. Stay tuned for more
details!!!!
.
Technology Exposition Topics & Vendors Your SNUG officers are
taking suggestions for topics and vendors for the three “Tech Expos”
in 2007.
Do you want to learn more about some specific hardware?
Is there a piece of software that you would like to test drive?
Want to learn about storage media?
Build a SAN or IP storage network in 60 minutes?
Please send your ideas to:

Meeting Location In 2007 we are prepared
to continue our practice of alternating sides of the bay for our
meetings. That means that the meetings which are not held at a
vendor location will still alternate between the Radisson in
Clearwater and the Centre Club in Tampa. Your SNUG officers are
looking for feedback as to whether or not the SNUG members would
like to continue this practice in 2007.
